Nationwide Children’s Hospital Names Room After Dale Earnhardt Jr.

In January, Nationwide, in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, gifted Dale Jr. and Amy Earnhardt a unique wedding gift: a room named in their honor.

The Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s rehabilitation room — where children work to regain and improve functional abilities post-illness — has officially been renamed The Dale and Amy Earnhardt Activity Room.

On April 27, Dale Jr., Amy, and Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick stopped by for the dedication ceremony — and to meet with children receiving treatment at the hospital.

“Nationwide is proud of its relationship with Dale Jr., Amy and Rick Hendrick, who share our passion and commitment to improving the lives of children,” says Nationwide Chief Marketing Officer Terrance Williams. “Our partnership with Hendrick Motorsports and Dale Jr. extends far beyond the track and includes serving the needs of young patients and their families.”

The visit to Nationwide Children’s Hospital is the latest example of how Nationwide, the Earnhardts and Hendrick Motorsports have partnered together in support of the hospital.

“We really appreciate the thoughtfulness and generosity of the Earnhardt’s and Mr. Hendrick in raising needed funds for the hospital,” says Jim Digan, president of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation. “The research and clinical care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital improve the lives of children and their families across the United States and in nearly 50 countries around the world.”
